Rediscover365 might be yet another 365-day photography project, but with the busy schedule of everyday life, one needs to make time for oneself and rediscover the magic that got me drawn into this art-form.
I began photographing on a professional basis back in 2008, but my curiosity with freezing a moment in time started as a kid.
Looking back, I laugh at how it took ages for the old man to setup the camera for a family portrait, but after years of experience on the photography circuit has made me appreciate the great care and consideration that was required to nail ‘the shot’.
The purpose of this project for 2017 is a personal journey of reinvigorate a passion for photography, along with an exploration of spontaneous, candid documenting of everyday moments. The only common theme will be to capture a moment in film and the same – or another – moment by digital means. Zero or minimal processing for each frame, this especially important as the modern digital-workflow for photography can be quite exhausting and time-consuming, perhaps one of the biggest secrets in professional photography.
With a year ahead full of great goals, significant changes and new adventures, no doubt I’ll be looking back on the year gone by, 365 days from now, with a greater understanding of who I am and where I’m heading.
Stay tuned!
